7. Speed Dating at the Museum
In 2008, the British Museum held a speed-dating event for singles ages 21 to 35. The event was called ‘Love in the Time of Cholera’ after the book by Gabriel García Márquez. Attendees were able to view the museum’s collections and then go on three-minute dates with other singles.
The event was a huge success, with over 200 people attending. It was so popular that the museum decided to hold another one in 2009. This time, the event was called ‘Love in the Time of Shakespeare.’ again, it was a big success, with over 300 people attending.
Since then, other museums around the world have started holding their own speed-dating events. It’s a great way to meet new people and see some of the world’s most famous artifacts at the same time!
8. A Windowless Studio in New York City
In 2006, a woman in New York City rented out a windowless studio apartment for $200 per night. The studio was located in a busy area of the city and did not have any windows. Despite this, the woman was able to make a lot of money by renting out the studio to people who wanted to experience what it was like to live in a windowless room.
